ไม่ว่าคุณจะรู้จักเธอในนามของ “ฮโยยอน” สมาชิกสายแดนซ์สมญานาม Dancing Queen ประจำวงเกิร์ลกรุ๊ปแห่งชาติ Girls’ Generation หรือ DJ HYO ดีเจสาวสุดสวยเปิดเพลงสไตล์ EDM วันนี้เราพาทุกคนมาทำความรู้จัก HYO ศิลปินเดี่ยวที่มาพร้อมกับเพลงชวนแดนซ์สนุกๆ ล่าสุด “DESSERT” ที่กำลังฮิตไปทั่วบ้านทั่วเมืองกับท่าเต้นที่กำลังเป็น viral ในโลกโซเชียลในท่อน “You know what I deserve (What?) DESSERT!”

Sanook Music ได้สัมภาษณ์ผ่าน e-mail กับ HYO แบบ exclusive สุดๆ ถึงเรื่องเพลงใหม่ล่าสุด “DESSERT” ที่เธอชอบที่สุด การฉลองครบรอบ 13 ปีกับเพื่อนๆ GIRLS’ GENERATION ประสบการณ์ดีเจในเทศกาลดนตรีไทยครั้งแรก สิ่งที่ได้เรียนรู้จากรายการ Good Girl และคำแนะนำในฐานะศิลปินที่อยู่ในวงการมากกว่าทศวรรษ จากรุ่นพี่ถึงรุ่นน้อง

สวัสดีจากประเทศไทยค่ะ HYO! ช่วงนี้เป็นอย่างไรบ้าง? ช่วงโควิด-19 ได้ทำอะไรบ้าง นอกจากเตรียมปล่อยเพลงใหม่ๆ ให้แฟนๆ ได้ฟังกัน

HYO: ไม่นานมานี้ ฉันได้ทำงานในฐานะดีเจค่ะ ฉันดูทีวี ภาพยนตร์ และฟังเพลงหลากหลายแนวมากในช่วงที่หยุดพักผ่อนค่ะ แล้วก็ได้พูดคุยกับแฟนๆ ของฉัน ผ่านทางคอมเมนต์ในช่องทางโซเชียลมีเดียเมื่อมีเวลาว่างด้วยค่ะ  

เพลง “DESSERT” เป็นซิงเกิลใหม่หลังจากปล่อย “Badster” มาได้ 1 ปี เพลงนี้เกี่ยวกับอะไร และมีแมสเสจอะไรที่อยากบอกแฟนๆ ผ่านเพลงนี้บ้าง?

HYO: มันก็หนึ่งปีแล้วนะคะที่ฉันได้กลับมาพร้อมเพลงใหม่ เพลงใหม่นี้คือ “DESSERT” ค่ะ เป็นเพลงแนวจังเกิลป๊อปสนุกๆ มาพร้อมจังหวะแบบ Moombahton ที่มีเสน่ห์ค่ะ ฉันหวังว่าคุณจะสนุกไปกับช่วงฤดูร้อนได้อย่างสดชื่น ในขณะที่ฟังเพลงใหม่ของฉันนะคะ

ทำงานกับ LOOPY และโซยอน วง (G)I-DLE ตอนถ่ายมิวสิควิดีโอเป็นอย่างไรกันบ้าง?

HYO: พวกเราไม่ได้สนิทกันมากตอนที่เจอกันครั้งแรกเพื่อถ่ายทำมิวสิควิดีโอค่ะ เพราะฉะนั้นพวกเราเลยเคอะเขินกันเล็กน้อยในตอนแรก แต่พวกเราก็รู้สึกสบายๆ ต่อกันมากขึ้นเมื่อถ่ายทำมิวสิควีดีโอนะคะ และเราก็สามารถถ่ายทำมิวสิควิดีโอให้เสร็จสิ้นได้ด้วยความเป็นมืออาชีพของพวกเราทั้งสามคนค่ะ

ชอบกินของหวานหรือเปล่า? ของหวานที่ชอบที่สุด ที่จะกินได้เรื่อยๆ ไม่เบื่อเลย คืออะไร?

HYO: ฉันชอบของหวานค่ะ ฉันชอบทานของหวานที่สดชื่นๆ อย่าง “Pat Bingsu” (น้ำแข็งไสถั่วแดงแบบเกาหลี) และแตงโมในช่วงฤดูร้อนค่ะ ของหวานโปรดอีกอย่างคือ ขนมปังค่ะ ฉันคิดว่าฉันกินขนมปังอย่างน้อย 3 ครั้งต่อสัปดาห์ค่ะ ขนมปังเป็นของหวานที่ดีที่สุดอย่างไม่ต้องสงสัยเลยค่ะ (ยิ้ม)

เราได้ไปดู DJ HYO เปิดแผ่นในเทศกาล MAYA Music Festival เมื่อปี 2018 ด้วย จำงานวันนั้นได้ไหม? ตื่นเต้นไหมที่ได้ทำการแสดงในฐานะ DJ HYO ให้แฟนๆ ชาวไทยได้ชมเป็นครั้งแรก?

HYO: MAYA Music Festival เป็นเทศกาลดนตรีใหญ่ในประเทศไทยครั้งแรกที่ฉันได้เข้าร่วมในฐานะดีเจค่ะ ฉันยังจำได้อย่างชัดเจนค่ะว่า ผู้ชมสนุกไปกับเซตที่ฉันจัดเตรียมไปมากแค่ไหน และฉันก็สามารถสนุกสนานไปกับการแสดงได้มากเช่นกันค่ะ ถ้ามีโอกาสฉันก็อยากที่จะได้ทำการแสดงในฐานะดีเจที่ประเทศไทยอีกครั้งค่ะ

หลังจากที่ได้ร่วมรายการเรียลลิตี้ Good Girl แล้ว เป็นอย่างไรบ้าง? ได้เรียนรู้อะไรจากรายการนั้นบ้างไหม?

HYO: ฉันได้เรียนรู้ว่าเราสามารถที่จะทำการแสดงที่ดีมากขึ้นได้ หากมีความเข้าใจอกเข้าใจและแบ่งปัน

มากกว่าที่จะพยายามเติมเต็มแต่ความต้องการของตัวเองค่ะ ฉันเป็นรุ่นพี่โตสุดในบรรดาผู้เข้าร่วมรายการ “Good Girl” แต่ฉันก็ได้เรียนรู้เยอะมากผ่านผลงานของรุ่นน้องคนอื่น และมันเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ฉันได้ตระหนัก และเรียนรู้เยอะมากค่ะ

คุณเป็นแบบอย่างของการเป็นศิลปินที่ดีและน่านับถือต่อศิลปินรุ่นน้องที่อยากจะประสบความสำเร็จในวงการเพลงและวงการบันเทิง ในฐานะที่คุณเป็น Dancing Queen ของ GIRLS’ GENERATION มามากกว่า 10 ปี และได้เป็นศิลปินเดี่ยวในทุกวันนี้ คุณมีคำแนะนำอะไรที่อยากจะฝากถึงศิลปินรุ่นน้องที่อยากเจริญรอยตามคุณบ้างไหม?

HYO: หยาดเหงื่อและเวลาที่ทุ่มเทไปในงาน หรือ สิ่งที่คุณอยากทำนั้น จะไม่มีวันทรยศคุณค่ะ ยิ่งคุณทุ่มเทความพยายามมากเท่าไหร่ คุณก็ยิ่งเข้าใกล้ความสำเร็จมากขึ้นเท่านั้นค่ะ ดังนั้น เข้มแข็งกันนะคะ!

ได้ติดต่อกับเพื่อนๆ ในวง GIRLS’ GENERATION บ้างหรือเปล่า?

HYO: วันที่ 5 สิงหาคมที่ผ่านมา เป็นวันครบรอบ 13 ปีของ GIRLS’ GENERATION ค่ะ พวกเรารวมตัวกันเพื่อฉลอง และทานอาหารอร่อยๆ รวมถึงได้พูดคุยเกี่ยวกับว่า พวกเรารู้สึกขอบคุณโซวอนมากแค่ไหน และใช้เวลาที่ยอดเยี่ยมร่วมกัน พร้อมกับพูดกันว่า มาอยู่ด้วยกันตลอดไปนะ

ชื่อเว็บไซต์ของเราคือ “สนุก” ในช่วงที่ทุกคนกำลังเจอกับเรื่องราวอันยากลำบาก ช่วยแนะนำกิจกรรมอะไรที่ทำแล้วรู้สึก “สนุก” หรือมีความสุขให้แฟนๆ ได้ลองทำตามกันดูหน่อย

HYO: การที่ได้ทานของอร่อยๆ ก็เพียงพอที่จะทำให้ฉันมีความสุขแล้วค่ะ คุณจะต้องผ่านพ้นเหตุการณ์นี้ไปได้ ด้วยการทานของหวานที่อร่อยๆ ในขณะที่ฟังเพลงใหม่ “DESSERT” ด้วยนะคะ

You may know her as Hyoyeon, Dancing Queen of Korean national girl group, Girls’ Generations, or DJ HYO, a gorgeous DJ in the EDM showbiz. Sanook would like to introduce you, HYO, a soloist with her latest hits, “DESSERT”, which is currently going viral with quirky fun dance moves in the social world with the catchy line, “You know what I deserve (What?) DESSERT!”.

Sanook Music had an opportunity to exclusively interview HYO about her favorite dessert, the 13th GIRLS’ GENERATION anniversary party with her bandmates, her first time as DJ HYO in a Thai music festival back in 2018, her experience at Good Girl reality TV program, and her advice as a professional artist to amatuers.

 

Annyeonghaseyo, HYO! Greetings from Thailand! How have you been lately? What have you been doing during the COVID-19 pandemic other than creating music for us?

HYO: Recently I’ve mostly been working on my DJ remixes. During my whine down I would watch TV/movies and listen to songs of various genres.. I also interacted with my fans on social media when I had time.

 

"DESSERT" is your new single after 1 year of "Badster" release. What is this song about? What would you like to communicate to your fans through this song?

HYO: It’s been a year since I’ve come back with a new song. This new song “DESSERT” is an uplifting jungle pop genre with a charm of Moombahton rhythm. I hope you can enjoy the refreshing summer while listening to my new song!

 

How's working with Loopy and SOYEON of (G)I-DLE? Can you tell us some funny or memorable experiences during the recording and shooting of the music video with them?

HYO: We were not very close to each other when we first met to shoot the music video so it felt a bit awkward at first, but we became more comfortable with each other while shooting the music video and were able to finish shooting our music video with professional appearances of us three.

 

Do you love desserts? What's your favorite dessert that you can eat without ever getting sick of? Why do you like it?

HYO: I love desserts! A few of my favorites are "Pat Bingsu" (Korean shaved ice dessert) and watermelon in the summer. My favorite dessert is bread. I think I eat bread at least 3 times a week. Bread is the best dessert without a doubt. (smile)

 

I saw DJ HYO performance at MAYA Music Festival 2018 in Thailand. How clearly can you recall the event? It was your first performance as DJ HYO. How was the show? Were you excited to share your DJ set to Thai fans for the first time?

HYO: MAYA Music Festival is the first big festival that I have participated in Thailand as a DJ. I still remember clearly how much the audience enjoyed the set that I have prepared. I was able to enjoy performing too. If the opportunity comes, I would love to perform for Thai fans again when I get the chance.

 

You have participated in the hip hop reality show Good Girl, could you tell us what you have learned throughout your experience at the show? What are the most memorable moments you experienced while you were doing the show?

HYO: I’ve learned that you can make a better performance by being considerate and sharing rather than trying to fulfill your own greed. Among the participants, I was the most experienced in Good Girl, but I later came to a realization that I also learned a lot through the ways the other junior artists work.  

 

You are a role model for the new generation who wants to be a successful K-POP idol and entertainer. Having been the Dancing Queen in GIRLS’ GENERATION for many years and now performing as a solo DJ, what advice would you like to give for those who want to be like you?

HYO: The sweat and time put into work for something that you want to do will never betray you. The more effort you put in, the closer you will be to success. So, stay strong!

 

Have you been in touch with GIRLS’ GENERATION members recently? Who have you met? What would you girls talk about when you meet up?

HYO: August 5th was GIRLS’ GENERATION’s 13th anniversary. We gathered to celebrate with good food and talked about how grateful we are to SONE. We had a great time and would always tell each other to always be together.

 

Our website, Sanook, means "Fun." Everyone has been through ups and downs during the pandemic. What would you like to recommend us and your fans to stay fun and be happy during this time?

HYO: Being able to eat good food is enough to make me happy. You will be able to overcome any tough situations when you eat tasty desserts while listening to the new song “DESSERT”.
