ในวัยเด็กทุกคนล้วนมีเรื่องที่ทำให้เรานึกย้อนกลับไปว่า “เรานี่ช่างโง่เขลาเสียจริง” และการยอมรับว่าตัวเราเองมีข้อผิดพลาด นั่นคือเครื่องพิสูจน์ว่าเรากำลังโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่อย่างเต็มตัว 

“แทมิน” (TAEMIN) กับการเป็นศิลปินบนเส้นทางดนตรี K-POP มากกว่าทศวรรษ ถ่ายทอดความคิดของการเติบโตจากวัยเด็กสู่ปัจจุบันในเพลงใหม่ “2 KIDS” พร้อมทั้งเผยถึงตัวตนที่แท้จริงของเขาในฐานะ น้องเล็กแทมินใน SHINee, พี่ใหญ่มากประสบการณ์ใน SuperM และ อีแทมิน ผู้ชายธรรมดาๆ คนหนึ่งที่ยังคงวิ่งไล่ตามความฝันอย่างไม่ลดละ ผ่านบทสัมภาษณ์สุด exclusive กับ Sanook Music ที่จะทำให้เราเข้าใจในทุกบทบาทในชีวิตของแทมินมากขึ้น

เบื้องหลังเพลง และมิวสิควิดีโอ “2 KIDS” มีที่มาที่ไปอย่างไรบ้าง?

แทมิน: ระหว่างที่มีการประชุมเรื่องสถานที่สำหรับมิวสิควีดีโอของเรานั้น พวกเราก็อยากรู้กันว่า สถานที่ไหนที่ทุกคนจะสามารถสัมผัสได้ถึงความโรแมนติก และความรัก พวกเราคิดว่ากรุงปารีสจะเป็นสถานที่ที่เหมาะสมครับ และผมอยากจะแสดงให้เห็นถึงตัวตนภายในของผมที่นั่นครับ

มิวสิควิดีโอเพลง “2 KIDS” ถ่ายทำออกมาในรูปแบบเหมือนภาพยนตร์ ดูแตกต่างจากมิวสิควิดีโอก่อนหน้านี้ที่เคยทำมา การทำอารมณ์ในแต่ละฉากยากไหม? ช่วยเล่าถึงบรรยากาศตอนถ่ายทำให้ฟังหน่อย

แทมิน: จริงๆ แล้ว พวกเราอยากถ่ายมิวสิควีดีโอในตอนกลางคืนกันครับ แต่ฝนตกหนักมาก ทำให้ล่าช้า และต้องถ่ายทำกันต่อจนถึงเช้า ทั้งหนาวและพื้นก็เปียก พวกเราเลยลำบากกันบ้าง แต่ว่าผมก็สามารถแสดงออกได้อย่างเต็มที่เกี่ยวกับความคิดของผม และอารมณ์ในตอนสุดท้าย ดังนั้นผมเลยรู้สึกว่ามันมีความหมายมากๆ ครับ

จากเนื้อเพลง “2 KIDS” ที่ว่า “We were just 2 kids, too young and dumb” มีความทรงจำในวัยเด็กที่ทำให้รู้สึกว่าเรา “ยังเด็กและทึ่ม” บ้างไหม?

แทมิน: มีหลายครั้งที่ผมมองย้อนกลับไปและคิดว่า “ผมไม่ควรเห็นแก่ตัว และผมหวังว่า ผมจะสามารถเป็นคนที่เอาใจใส่คนรอบตัวผมให้มากกว่านี้” เวลาที่ผมร้องเพลงนี้ มันทำให้ผมนึกถึงสถานการณ์เหล่านั้นครับ

ถ้าสามารถย้อนเวลากลับไปในตอนเด็กได้ อยากกลับไปแก้ไขอะไรไหม?

แทมิน: ผมหวังว่าผมจะสามารถกลับไปตอนที่เดบิวต์ในปี 2008 และสร้างความทรงจำกับสมาชิกให้มากกว่านี้ครับ ในตอนนั้นผมมักจะใช้เวลาอยู่คนเดียว แต่ถ้าผมคิดถึงเรื่องนั้นในตอนนี้ มันคงจะดีมากถ้าผมสามารถสร้างความทรงจำร่วมกันได้มากกว่านี้ครับ

สมาชิก SHINee และ SuperM ได้ฟังเพลงของคุณหรือยัง? พวกเขาว่าอย่างไรกันบ้าง?

แทมิน: พวกเขาทุกคนพูดว่า มันดีครับ (ยิ้ม)

คิดว่าแทมิน SHINee, แทมิน SuperM และ อีแทมิน เหมือนหรือต่างกันอย่างไรบ้าง?

แทมิน: ผมคิดว่ามันมีความแตกต่างกันในแต่ละเวลาครับ ในฐานะสมาชิกของวง SHINee ผมเป็นสมาชิกที่อายุน้อยสุด และน่ารักที่สุด ในวง SuperM ผมพยายามที่จะนำให้มากกว่าเดิมหน่อย และคอยดูแลสมาชิก ส่วน อีแทมิน นั้น คือ “เด็กและทึ่ม” ครับ (หัวเราะ)

เรียนรู้อะไรจากการเป็นสมาชิกวง SuperM ร่วมกับคนอื่นๆ บ้าง? รู้สึกถึงความแตกต่างระหว่างการเป็นน้องเล็กใน SHINee กับการเป็นรุ่นพี่ใน SuperM บ้างไหม?

แทมิน: ช่วงที่ทำการแสดงในฐานะ SuperM ผมได้เรียนรู้เยอะมากจากสมาชิกคนอื่นๆ ครับ มันมีหลายอย่างให้เรียนรู้ในเรื่องของดนตรี และในมุมมองของการแสดงออก หรือ ความเข้าใจในเพลง ผมคิดว่าสิ่งนี้ช่วยให้ผมมีมุมมองที่กว้างขึ้นในเรื่องของดนตรีครับ

ในอนาคตอยากลองทำเพลง หรือเป็นศิลปินดูโอร่วมกับคนอื่นดูบ้างไหม?

แทมิน: ผมอยากลองดูเอ็ตกับ อนยู (ONEW) ครับ พวกเราฝึกซ้อมด้วยกันมาเยอะมาก และผมคิดว่ามันคงจะเป็นบางสิ่งที่ใหม่ที่ได้แสดงในฐานะยูนิตของ SHINee ครับ

คิดถึง SHINee World ชาวไทยไหม? มีอะไรอยากฝากถึงแฟนๆ ชาวสนุก และแฟนๆ ชาวไทยบ้าง?

แทมิน: ผมยังจำครั้งแรกที่ไปประเทศไทยได้อย่างชัดเจนครับ ผมหวังว่าจะได้ใช้เวลากับพวกคุณทุกคนเร็วๆ นี้นะครับ ขอบคุณมากๆ ครับสำหรับความรักอันมากมายที่ส่งมาให้ผมเสมอ

When we were kids, we might have thought back to the past that “We were too young and dumb”. And when you accepted your failures, that was the proof that you have grown to become an adult. 

TAEMIN, who has been spending his life through the K-POP industry for more than a decade, revealed how he has grown from a young kid to a fully adult through his latest song “2 KIDS”, and also talked about his true self as TAEMIN the SHINee maknae, TAEMIN the SuperM experienced senior and LEE TAEMIN, a normal guy who is still running towards his dream with full speed. We have a chance to learn more about him through Sanook Music’s exclusive interview that will make you understand all of the different roles in his life better. 

 

What are the ideas and story behind the music video of the song “2 KIDS”?

TAEMIN: While having a meeting about the location for our music video, we were wondering where would be a location that everyone can feel romance and love. We thought Paris would be a suitable place and I wanted to express my inner self there.

Your newly released music video is like a movie, which is different from other music videos you’ve done before. Was it hard filming this MV which was full of emotions? Can you tell us how it was filming?

TAEMIN: We actually wanted to shoot the music video at night, but it rained heavily, causing delays and the shooting continued until morning. It was cold and the floor was wet so we had some difficulties, but I was able to fully express my thoughts and emotions in the end, so I felt that it was very meaningful.

From the lyrics “We were just 2 kids, too young and dumb”, do you have a memory of the past where you feel like you were just a young and dumb kid?

TAEMIN: There were times where I looked back and thought “I should not be selfish and I hope I can be someone that could be more thoughtful of the people around me.” When I sang this song, it reminded me of those kinds of situations.

If you could turn back time to when you were a kid, would you like to do or change anything?

TAEMIN: I wish I could go back to the year I debuted in 2008 and make more memories with the members. At that time, I preferred spending time alone, but if I think about it now it would have been great if I could have made more memories with them then.

Have the other SHINee and SuperM members listened to your new song already? How did they respond?

TAEMIN: They all say that it is good. (smile)

Do you think TAEMIN in SHINee, TAEMIN in SuperM and just TAEMIN are the same or different in any ways?

TAEMIN: I think there are differences each time. As a member of SHINee, I am always the youngest and cutest member, in SuperM I try to lead a bit more and take care of the members. Just TAEMIN is “young and dumb.” (laugh)

How’s the experience and what do you learn from being in SuperM with other members from other groups. Do you feel the difference between being the maknae in SHINee and being Hyung/Sunbae in SuperM?

TAEMIN: I learnt a lot from the other members while performing as SuperM. There is a lot to learn musically and in the aspects of expressing or understanding songs. I think this helped me to have a broader view musically.

Do you have other artists that you want to collaborate with or set up a new duo/unit with?

TAEMIN: I want to try a duet with ONEW. We practiced a lot together and I think it would be something new to perform as a unit of SHINee.
