หลังจากปล่อยเพลงโซโล่อย่างเป็นทางการครั้งแรก รวมถึงปล่อยอัลบั้มเต็มชุดแรก Waterfall ไปเมื่อช่วงต้นปีที่ผ่านมา ไม่กี่เดือนต่อมาหนุ่ม B.I ก็ปล่อยผลงานใหม่ออกมาอีกครั้งโดยไม่ปล่อยให้แฟนเพลงรอนาน หรือนี่คือข้อดีของการเป็นเจ้าของค่ายเพลงของตัวเองอย่าง 131 Label ที่สามารถจัดการเรื่องเพลง และเวลาในการปล่อยเพลงได้อย่างอิสระ รวมถึงการเลือกให้สัมภาษณ์กับสื่อมวลชนด้วย ซึ่ง Sanook ก็เป็นผู้โชคดีที่ได้รับเลือกให้ได้เป็นสื่อไทยที่ได้สัมภาษณ์ B.I ในวันนี้

คุณกลับมาด้วย half album รูปแบบต่างจากอัลบั้ม EP หรือเปล่า ทำไมถึงตัดสินใจออกเป็น half album

B.I: มีรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันแน่นอนครับ ในอนาคตผมอยากทำอัลบั้มเต็ม อยากออกอัลบั้มเต็มให้ได้ฟังกันอย่างเต็มที่ ในอัลบั้ม COSMOS นี้ ผมอยากบอกเล่าเรื่องราวที่หลากหลายขึ้น อยากออกอัลบั้มที่ความหมายของเพลง และส่วนประกอบต่างๆ มีความสมบูรณ์แบบมากขึ้น เลยตัดสินใจออก half album ที่มี 6 ไม่สิ 7 เพลงออกมาก่อนครับ เป็นขั้นตอนที่จะก้าวไปสู่อัลบั้มเต็มที่ 2 น่ะครับ อัลบั้มนี้ ไม่ใช่อัลบั้ม EP

COSMOS ของ B.I คืออะไร ทำไมถึงเลือกใช้คำนี้

B.I: COSMOS ของผมคือแฟนๆ ครับ จักรวาลของผมคือ ID (ชื่อแฟนคลับ) มีช่วงนึงที่ผมคิดถึงเรื่องความรักนิรันดร์อย่างจริงจังมากๆ เลยครับ ผมเลยหาสิ่งที่จะมาเปรียบเทียบกันได้ แล้วก็คิดได้ว่า ตอนนี้สิ่งที่ผมรู้จักที่ใกล้เคียงกับคำว่านิรันดร์ที่สุดคือ "จักรวาล" แล้วผมก็เจอว่าคำอีกคำที่หมายความว่าจักรวาลคือคำว่า COSMOS เลยตัดสินใจใช้คำนี้ครับ

ในอัลบั้มมีเพลงที่คุณร้องร่วมกับ Colde ด้วย ได้ทำงานด้วยกันเป็นยังไงบ้าง

B.I: สนุกครับ เราสนิทกันมาก่อนแล้ว บางครั้งก็ไปกินข้าว พูดคุยกัน ผมก็รู้สึกขอบคุณมากครับที่เขามาร่วมทำเพลงด้วยอย่างยินดี ผมชอบเสียงของเขาอยู่แล้วด้วย ไม่มีอะไรที่ยากเลยครับ ผมแค่ติดต่อไป เขาก็มาร้องไห้อย่างดี แล้วผลก็ออกมาน่าพึงพอใจมาก จบอย่างเรียบร้อยน่ะครับ งานเสร็จเร็วมากเลย

ข้อแตกต่างระหว่าง B.I กับฮันบินคืออะไร

B.I: B.I น่ะ ถ้าให้พูดตามความรู้สึกของผม เขาเป็นคนที่ชอบแอ็คเท่มากกว่านิดนึงครับ ส่วนฮันบิน จะเป็นคนที่… ต้องพูดว่ายังไงดีนะ ไม่สนใจว่าคนอื่นจะได้เห็นภาพลักษณ์แบบไหน แต่ B.I จะแอ็คเท่มากกว่า ชอบส่งสายตาดุๆ แบบไม่จำเป็นน่ะครับ (ยิ้ม)

คุณเขียนเพลงมาตั้งแต่เด็กๆ จนทำให้หลายๆ คนบอกว่าคุณเป็นอัจฉริยะด้านดนตรี ในอนาคตมีดนตรีแนวไหนที่คุณอยากทำไหม

B.I: อืม เยอะเลยครับ ตอนนี้ผมยังจัดการความคิดในหัวไม่ได้ แต่มีไอเดียอยู่หลายอย่าง คราวหลังผมจะแสดงให้เห็นในอัลบั้มต่อๆ ไปครับ

คุณทำเพลงมานานมากแล้ว ขั้นตอนในการทำเพลงมีอะไรที่เปลี่ยนไปบ้างไหม 

B.I: ไม่มีอะไรที่เปลี่ยนไปเลยครับ ทั้งตอนนั้นและตอนนี้ ขั้นตอนในการทำเพลงไม่ได้มีกำหนดเอาไว้หรือมีกฎเกณฑ์อะไร ก็เลยไม่มีอะไรเปลี่ยนไปครับ เหมือนเดิมเลย

คุณเป็นทั้งนักร้อง นักแต่งเพลงและเจ้าของต้นสังกัด งานยุ่งมากไหม ทำยังไงถึงทำทุกอย่างและดูแลต้นสังกัดไปด้วยได้

B.I: ผมน่ะเหรอครับ อืม ผมคิดว่าจะยุ่งมากซะอีก แต่ผมมีเวลาดูหนังมากกว่าที่คิด ได้ไปทำงานอดิเรกกับเพื่อนๆ มากกว่าที่คิด แล้วก็มีเวลานอนมองเพดานอยู่คนเดียวมากกว่าที่คิดด้วยครับ ผมคิดว่าจะยุ่งมากๆ ซะอีก เป็นเพราะว่าผมไม่ได้ทำทุกอย่างคนเดียว แต่ทำด้วยกันกับทีมก็เลยทำให้ทำได้น่ะครับ

วางแผนงานในปี 2022 เอาไว้อย่างไรบ้าง

B.I: แผนการในปี 2022 นี่มันความลับสุดยอดเลยนะ ก่อนอื่นเลย ตอนนี้ผมออก half album มาแล้ว เพราะฉะนั้น ผมเลยมีแผนจะวางขาย half album ที่เหลือครับ แล้วก็ เหนือสิ่งอื่นใด สิ่งที่ผมต้องการที่สุดคือ อยากมีเวลาได้พบปะแฟนๆ ตัวเป็นๆ ได้พูดคุยสื่อสาร และแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้สึกกันให้มากขึ้นครับ ผมหวังว่าจะสามารถนำความต้องการนั้นมาทำให้เป็นแผนการให้ได้ครับ

B.I: ก่อนอื่นเลย ผมอยากจะกล่าวขอบคุณอีกครั้งครับ ผมอยากจะตอบแทนความรักที่ได้รับมาให้ได้เร็วที่สุด อยากรีบไปเจอหน้าทุกคนและพูดคุยกัน และแบ่งปันความรู้สึกร่วมกัน อยากให้วันนั้นมาถึงไวๆ มากเลยครับ ผมคิดถึงทุกคนมากครับ ขอบคุณสำหรับความรักที่มอบให้นะครับ รักนะครับ

B.I ภาษาไทยที่รู้จักเหรอ จริงๆ ผมรู้จักเยอะมาก แต่พอไม่ได้ใช้ ก็เลยลืมไปเยอะเลยครับ ก่อนอื่นเลยที่ผมนึกออกก็คือคำว่า "สวัสดีครับ ขอบคุณครับ" ต่อไปก็คือ ผมอาจจะพูดไม่ถูกแต่มีคำที่แฟนๆ สอนมาครับ "รักคุณนะครับ" "รักนะ" น่าจะมีความหมายเกี่ยวกับคำว่ารัก "รักคุณนะครับ" "รักนะ" ประมาณนี้ครับ

After releasing solo tracks and a full-length album Waterfall officially for the first time at the beginning of this year, months later B.I released new songs again like he didn’t want his fans to wait for so long. Or this is the benefit of a self-managed record label, 131 Label, that lets him manage and decide which time is perfect or release some new songs freely, including choosing the media to interview with, and Sanook is the chosen one.

So, let’s learn more about B.I or Hanbin about his life as a rapper, singer, songwriter and a genius record label owner who has music and his fans in every breath he takes.

 

You're back with the half album concept. Is it different from an EP? Why did you decide to release the half album?

B.I: It's definitely a different format. I'd like to make a full-length album in the future. I'd like to release an album so that you can listen to it fully. In this COSMOS album, I'd like to tell more various stories to make it be the album that the meaning of the song and all parts are more perfect. So, I decided to release the half album with 6... no 7 songs prior. As a step to release the 2nd full-length album. So, it's not an EP.

What's COSMOS for B.I? Why did you choose this word?

B.I: COSMOS is my fans. My universe is ID. (his fandom’s name) There's a time I've been thinking seriously about eternal love. I tried to find something to compare it. And I thought now what I know and it's the closest one is "universe" and I also found out another term to call the universe is COSMOS. So I chose that word.

You've worked with Colde in this album. How's working with him?

B.I: It was fun. We're already close. We've been out for a meal and talked sometimes. I'm so thankful that he joined me for making music with his pleasure. I already like his voice. There's nothing difficult. I just contacted him, and he was willing to sing for me. The result was so satisfying, it ended perfectly. It was done so fast.

Differences between B.I and Hanbin?

B.I: For B.I, if I say it out of my feelings, he's a little bit more show off. For Hanbin, he's... How could I say this? He doesn't care how others see him. But B.I will be more show off and likes to cast his fierce gaze unnecessarily. (Smile)

You wrote songs since you were a kid. Many people think you are a music genius. Do you have any music genres you would like to try in the future?

B.I: Umm... There's a lot. I still can't manage all the ideas in my head. But there are many ideas. I'll show you in my future albums later.

You've been making songs for a long period of time. Has the song-writing process changed?

B.I: Nothing has changed, then and now. The song-writing process is not defined or regulated. So, nothing changed. Everything's the same.

You are a singer, songwriter and record label owner. Are you busy? How did you do everything while also taking care of the company?

B.I: Me? Umm... I thought I would be busier, But I have more time to watch movies than I thought. I joined some hobbies with my friends more than I thought I could. I also have more time to look at the ceiling alone than I thought. I thought I would be busier, but I didn't do all of this alone. I worked with my team, so I can do it.

How's your plan for 2022?

B.I: 2022 plan is a super-secret. Firstly, I released the first half-album. So, I have a plan to release the rest of the half album. And moreover, what I want the most is to have some time to meet my fans in person. I'd like to communicate and exchange feelings with them even more. I hope I can make my desire to be my future plan.

BONUS: Some Thai words you may know?

B.I: Oh...Thai words that I know... Actually, I know a lot. But after I haven't said it for a long time, I kind of forget a lot. Firstly, what I think of are "Sawaddee krub" (Hello) “Khob Khun Krub” (Thank you) Next, I may be wrong but my fans taught me this word. "Love you" (Rak Na Krub) "Love ya" (Rak Na), maybe about love? Something like that.
