สัมภาษณ์ แทอิล (TAEIL) คุน (KUN) และ หยางหยาง (YANGYANG) NCT ถึงเพลง “Rain Day” จากโปรเจกต์ NCT LAB ที่คุนแต่งเอาไว้นานถึง 2 ปี เบื้องหลังเอ็มวี ความซี้ของหยางหยาง เหรินจวิ้น โชทาโร่ และสิ่งที่อยากทำและอยากไปในเมืองไทย (พูดถึงไทยก็ต้องเมนชั่นเตนล์)

เดินทางมาถึงเพลงที่ 3 ของโปรเจกต์ NCT LAB ที่ให้สมาชิก NCT ได้แสดงความสามารถในด้านต่างๆ อย่างหลากหลาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเพลงเดี่ยว เพลงที่แต่งเอง หรือเพลงยูนิตพิเศษ ที่จะทำให้แฟนๆ ได้เห็นผลงานของ NCT ในหลากหลายแนวมากยิ่งขึ้นตลอดทั้งปี 2022 นี้

“Rain Day” นอกจากจะเป็นเพลงการรวมตัวกันของ 3 สมาชิกสุดพิเศษอย่าง แทอิล คุน และ หยางหยาง ที่เป็นการร่วมงานกันสามคนเป็นครั้งแรกแล้ว ยังเป็นเพลงที่สมาชิกมากความสามารถอย่าง คุน ได้แสดงฝีมือในการร่วมแต่งเนื้อร้อง ทำนอง และโปรดิวซ์เพลงด้วยตัวเองอย่างเป็นทางการครั้งแรกอีกด้วย

ให้ทั้งสามคนมาเล่าให้แฟนๆ ชาว Sanook ฟังกันดีกว่าว่า “Rain Day” มีที่มาที่ไปที่พิเศษอย่างไร รวมถึงเบื้องหลังการถ่ายทำมิวสิควิดีโอ และสิ่งที่แต่ละคนอยากทำหากได้มาเมืองไทย

คุน มีโอกาสได้โปรดิวซ์ แต่งเนื้อร้อง แต่งทำนอง และเรียบเรียงเพลงนี้ด้วย เพลงนี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากอะไร?

คุน: จริงๆ แล้ว ตอนทำเพลงนี้ ก็เป็นช่วงฤดูฝนของเกาหลีด้วยนะครับ พอฝนตกทุกวัน ผมเลยฝึกเปียโนอยู่ที่บ้าน แล้วอยู่ดีๆ ก็เกิดแรงบันดาลใจขึ้นมาครับ 

ผมเรียบเรียงด้วยตัวเองอยู่ 2 วัน จากนั้นก็ทำให้เพลงนี้เสร็จสมบูรณ์ร่วมกับเพื่อนๆ ปกติแล้ว แรงบันดาลใจของผมมักจะเกิดขึ้นตอนที่ทำงานเพลง ไปพร้อมกับดื่มไวน์ในช่วงเช้ามืดครับ

 

ท่อนที่ชอบที่สุดในเพลง คือ ท่อนไหน

แทอิล: ท่อนที่ชอบที่สุด…

คุน: มาร้องท่อนที่ชอบที่สุดทีละคนดีไหมครับ?

แทอิล: ทีละคนนะครับ แต่ก็น่าจะมีท่อนที่ซ้ำกันอยู่นะครับ

คุน: ใช่ครับ

แทอิล: เริ่มจากผมนะครับ “Fallin’ down all night~”"

คุน: โอ้ ใช่ครับ นี่ท่อนสำคัญครับ

หยางหยาง: สำคัญเลยครับ

คุน: ผมนึกถึงท่อนนี้เหมือนกันครับ ว่าแต่มีท่อนไหนอีกนะ?"

หยางหยาง: “Drivin’ down your way tonight~” (หัวเราะ)

แทอิล: ร้องท่อนที่ซ้ำกันก็ได้นะครับ เราชอบท่อนเดียวกันได้ครับ

คุน: ผมเองก็ชอบท่อน “Fallin’ down all night~” มากๆ เลยครับ หยางหยางล่ะครับ?

หยางหยาง: ผมก็ท่อน “Fallin’ down all night~” เหมือนกันครับ

 

เมมเบอร์คนไหนใน NCT ที่ได้ฟังเพลง “Rain Day” เป็นคนแรก และเมมเบอร์มีฟีดแบ็กอย่างไรบ้าง?

หยางหยาง: เมมเบอร์เราฟังกันเกือบทุกคนแล้วนะครับ

คุน: เมมเบอร์ WayV ฟังกันเกือบจะครบทุกคนเลยครับ

แทอิล: โอ้~ เป็นอย่างไรบ้างครับ?

คุน: จริงๆ แล้ว พวกเมมเบอร์ได้ฟังตั้งแต่ตอนที่ผมเริ่มทำเพลงนี้เลยครับ ทุกคนบอกว่าเพราะครับ

แทอิล: เริ่มฟังตั้งแต่ตอนเรียบเรียงเลยสินะ

คุน: ใช่แล้วครับ

หยางหยาง: ผมฟังเพลงนี้มา 2 ปีครับ

แทอิล: ตลอด 2 ปี?

คุน: ผมชอบถามความคิดเห็นพวกเขาว่า ถ้าเราปรับท่อนนี้ จะเป็นอย่างไรครับ

 

มี TMI ระหว่างทำเพลง หรือระหว่างถ่ายทำ MV ที่อยากเล่าให้ฟังบ้างไหม

หยางหยาง: พวกเรามีหนึ่ง TMI ในวันนั้นเลยครับ ซึ่งก็คือ วันที่เราถ่าย MV เพลง “Rain Day” เป็นวันที่ท้องฟ้าแจ่มใสมากครับ ดังนั้น ฝนที่ทุกคนเห็นกันใน MV ทั้งหมดเป็นแค่น้ำที่ออกมาจากท่อครับ มันคือฝนปลอมนั่นแหละครับ แต่พวกเราก็ทำออกมาให้ดูเหมือนฝนจริงอยู่ดีครับ ผมหวังว่าทุกคนจะชอบกันนะครับ

คุน: TMI ระหว่างที่ทำเพลงของผมก็คือ จริงๆ แล้ว ตอนที่เราได้ทราบข่าวเกี่ยวกับโปรเจกต์นี้ ผมอยู่ระหว่างการลาพักผ่อนครับ พอบอกว่าผมต้องทำเพลงนี้ ระหว่างที่ผมกักตัวอยู่ที่จีน ผมก็คุยกับเพื่อนแบบออนไลน์ แล้วทำเพลง ปรับเพลงไปด้วยกันครับ เพราะฉะนั้น ช่วยมอบความรักให้กับเพลงนี้เยอะๆ นะครับทุกคน

 

ตอนนี้ที่เมืองไทยก็อยู่ในช่วงฤดูฝนพอดี เพลงใหม่ “Rain Day” เลยเพอร์เฟ็กต์สำหรับแฟนๆ ชาวไทยมาก นอกจากฟังเพลงนี้แล้ว มีอะไรที่ชอบทำเวลาฝนตกบ้างไหม

คุน: จริงๆ แล้ว การได้อยู่บ้านเวลาที่ฝนตกนี่ สบายที่สุดแล้วครับ

หยางหยาง: นอนอยู่ที่บ้าน หรือไม่ก็นอนบนเตียงตอนฝนตก สบายที่สุดเลยครับ

แทอิล: ใช่ไหมครับ เกาหลีอยู่ในช่วงฤดูฝนเหมือนกัน ไม่นานมานี้ ฝนก็ตกอีกแล้วครับ

แทอิล: ปกติแล้วที่เกาหลี ถ้าฝนตกจะชอบทำจอน (แพนเค้กเกาหลี) กินกันครับ

คุน: ใช่เลยครับ

แทอิล: ครั้งนี้ ผมทำกิมจิจอนกินด้วยครับ

คุน: (หัวเราะ) อร่อยไหมครับ?

แทอิล: อะ… อร่อยสิครับ (หัวเราะ) แต่พอทำแบบนั้นอีก ผมเองก็รู้สึกอ่อนไหวขึ้นมาอยู่นะครับ ดีเหมือนกันครับ

 

ในฐานะสมาชิก NCT 127 แทอิลเพิ่งเสร็จจากการทัวร์คอนเสิร์ตในโดมและประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมาก แต่สำหรับตัวแทอิลเองแล้ว ในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้อยากจะทำอะไรให้สำเร็จหรือเปล่า

แทอิล: มีเยอะเลยครับ ก่อนอื่น ผมได้ทำกิจกรรมของวงมาเยอะมากอย่างต่อเนื่อง จนถึงตอนนี้และในอนาคตก็ด้วย เหมือนผมไม่ค่อยมีเวลาที่จะได้โชว์เสน่ห์ของผมคนเดียวมากเท่าไหร่ โดยส่วนตัวแล้ว ในขณะที่ผมทำพวกงานเพลงไปเรื่อยๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นด้านเสียงร้อง หรือในด้านการแต่งเพลง ผมก็อยากที่จะโชว์ให้แฟนๆ ได้เห็นกันอยู่เสมอครับ

 

คุน เป็นมากกว่า all-rounder เพราะไม่มีอะไรที่คุนทำไม่ได้เลย ยังมีอะไรที่คุนอยากลองทำอีกไหม

คุน: จริงๆ ตอนนี้ผมกำลังท้าทายหลายอย่างมากครับ ไม่นานมานี้ ผมมุ่งมั่นกับการกระโดดร่มสุด ๆ ครับ จนได้ใบอนุญาตการกระโดดร่มมาแล้วด้วย ซึ่งต่อไป..

แทอิล: ได้แล้วเหรอครับ?!

หยางหยาง: ได้แล้วครับ

คุน: ใช่ครับ ได้แล้วครับ

แทอิล: Respect~

คุน: ดังนั้น ตอนนี้ผมเลยจะเน้นไปที่วิธีการกระโดดร่มให้ปลอดภัยมากขึ้นครับ

หยางหยาง: พาร์ทเดี่ยวของเราใน MV ครั้งหน้า เราจะร้องเพลงขณะกระโดดร่มไปด้วยครับ

(หัวเราะกันหมด)

คุน: แบบนั้นก็ดีเหมือนกันนะครับ ภาพน่าจะออกมาสวยเลยครับ

หยางหยาง: ยังไม่มีใครเคยทำเลยนี่ครับ

คุน: ยังไม่มีครับ ผมคิดว่าไม่น่าจะมีไอดอลที่ได้ใบอนุญาตการกระโดดร่มเท่าไหร่ครับ

หยางหยาง: หนึ่งเดียวเท่านั้นครับ

หยางหยาง เหมือนจะสนิทกับเหรินจวิ้นและโชทาโร่ นอกจากไปกินฮอตพอตด้วยกันแล้ว ยังทำอะไรด้วยกันกับทั้งสองคนนี้อีกบ้างไหม?

หยางหยาง: ที่จริงแล้วตอนที่เราอยู่ด้วยกัน พวกเรากินข้าว และก็มีดื่มบ้างบางครั้งครับ

คุน: ดูเหมือนว่าจะกินฮอตพอตกันเกือบทุกวันเลยครับ

หยางหยาง: ผมกินฮอตพอตเกือบทุกวันจริงๆ ครับ ผมกับเหรินจวิ้น จะไปกินฮอตพอตด้วยกันสัปดาห์ละ 3 ครั้งครับ

ส่วนโชทาโร่นั้น เพราะว่าเราเป็นเพื่อนที่สนิทกันมาก ก็เลยพูดคุยกันได้ทุกเรื่องครับ ผมคิดว่า เวลาที่เครียด หรือมีเรื่องกังวล ผมจะคุยกับโชทาโร่ตลอดเลยครับ 2 คนนี้ เป็นเพื่อนที่ผมเจอบ่อยมากครับ

 

นอกจาก NCT LAB แล้ว ช่วยสปอยล์ให้แฟน ๆ รู้กันอีกสักนิดได้ไหมว่า ในปีนี้ถึงปีหน้า NCT มีอะไรให้ติดตามกันบ้าง

แทอิล: ก่อนอื่นเลย พวกเรากำลังเตรียมตัวกันอย่างหนักเพื่อที่จะแสดงให้แฟน ๆ ได้เห็นถึงด้านใหม่ ๆ และหลากหลาย ฉะนั้น รอติดตามกันด้วยนะครับ

คุน&หยางหยาง: ใช่แล้วครับ

คุน: และถ้ามีโอกาส พวกเราก็อยากไปทำกิจกรรมโปรโมตที่ประเทศไทย และประเทศในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ครับ อากาศก็ดีด้วยครับ

หยางหยาง: ผมอยากไปถ่ายทำคอนเทนต์ที่ประเทศไทยครับ

คุน: ผมด้วยครับ

ถ้ามีเวลาเที่ยวในไทย อยากลองทำอะไร หรืออยากไปที่ไหน

หยางหยาง: เราเคยไปประเทศไทยมาแล้วครั้งหนึ่งครับ แต่ว่าเราไม่มีเวลาได้ไปสนุกในกรุงเทพฯ มากเท่าไหร่ครับ เพราะฉะนั้น ผมเลยอยากไปกรุงเทพฯ ไปเดินตลาดท้องถิ่น และสถานที่ต่างๆ แบบได้มองไปรอบๆ ได้ถ่ายรูป หรือได้ไปบ้านพี่เตนล์ ผมอยากไปเล่นที่บ้านพี่เตนล์ครับ

คุน: ไม่นานมานี้ ผมคุยกับเตนล์ว่า ผมอยากไปภูเก็ตครับ ได้ยินมาว่า ทะเลที่ภูเก็ตสวยมากๆ เลยครับ

มีบ้านพัก และสถานที่สวยงามเยอะมาก ก็เลยอยากลองไปที่นั่นครับ

แทอิล: ผมเองก็ชอบสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแบบภูเก็ตมากๆ ตามที่คุนบอกครับ ก็เลยอยากลองไปสักครั้งครับ

An interview with TAEIL, KUN and YANGYANG NCT about “Rain Day” from NCT LAB project, which KUN has written for 2 years, behind-the-scene of the music video shooting, how close YANGYANG is with RENJUN and SHOTARO and things they would like to do if they can visit Thailand (TEN is mentioned!)

Here it comes to the third track from NCT LAB, the project to show NCT members’ abilities in various sounds in a solo, special units, and even release their own self-written songs. Fans will see NCT’s various works from this project throughout this year.

Apart from gathering TAEIL, KUN and YANGYANG into one group for the first time, “Rain Day” is also the official song that our talented KUN has taken part in the songwriting, composing and producing by himself for the first time.

Let the three tell us about how special “Rain Day” is, their fun behind-the-scene from the music video set and what they want to do if they have a chance to visit Thailand.

KUN, you had a chance to produce, write, compose, and arrange this song by yourself. What are your ideas or inspiration to write this song?

KUN: Actually, while I'm making this song, it was during the rainy season in Korea. When it rained everyday, I practiced piano at home and suddenly got an inspiration. I arranged it by myself for 2 days, then completed it together with my friends. Normally, my inspiration comes from the moment I'm working on a song while drinking wine at daybreak.

TAEIL: Favorite lines...

KUN: Let's sing favorite lines from each of us, shall we?

TAEIL: One by one. But we may like the same lines.

KUN: Yes.

TAEIL: Start from me, “Fallin’ down all night~”

KUN: Oh yes, this is the main ones.

YANGYANG: The main ones.

KUN: I'm thinking of these lines too. Any more lines?

YANGYANG: “Drivin’ down your way tonight~”

TAEIL: We may sing the same lines if we like the same ones.

KUN: I also like “Fallin’ down all night~” so much too.

KUN: What about you, YANGYANG?

YANGYANG: I like “Fallin’ down all night~” too.

 

Who is the first NCT member who got a chance to listen to the song? What was the feedback that he gave you?

YANGYANG: All of our members have already listened to it.

KUN: Almost all WayV members have already listened to it.

TAEIL: Oh~ What did they say?

KUN: Actually, the members have listened to it since I started making it.

KUN: They said it was good.

TAEIL: They've listened since you arranged it.

KUN: Yes.

YANGYANG: I listened to it for 2 years.

TAEIL: Throughout 2 years?

KUN: I like asking for their opinions, to adjust some lines and ask them how it was.

 

Any TMI about the process of making this song or during the music video shooting.

YANGYANG: We have one TMI. Actually, on that day, the day we filmed "Rain Day",

It was a really sunny day. So, the rain that you guys see in the MV just came out of the pipes. So, it was actually a fake rain. Still, we made it like real rain. So, I hope you guys enjoy it.

KUN: TMI during the making of this song, actually when I heard that I was going to do this project, I was on my vacation. When I was told to do this song during the quarantine in China, I chatted online with my friends and adjusted the song together. So, please give your love to this song a lot, everyone.

 

It’s also the rainy season here in Thailand and “Rain Day” would be perfect for us! Apart from listening to Rainy Day, what would you normally do when it rains?

KUN: Honestly, staying at home during the rain is the most comfortable.

YANGYANG: Staying at home or lying down during the rain is the most comfortable.

TAEIL: Right? In Korea, it is the rainy season too. Recently, the rain has fallen again. Normally in Korea, when it rains, we'd like to make Korean pancakes.

KUN: That's right.

TAEIL: This time, I also made my own Kimchi pancakes.

KUN: (Laugh) Is it good?

TAEIL: D… Definitely. (Laugh) But when I did it again, I got a little sentimental. That was good too.

 

TAEIL, as an NCT 127 member, you’ve just finished your dome tour and it was a big success. But for yourself, what do you want to succeed in the near future?

TAEIL: I got a lot. First, I did many group activities continuously, until today, and for upcoming ones, but I don't have time for showing my charm as a solo. Personally, while I was working on songs, on vocals or song writing, I want to show the fans all of them from time to time.

 

KUN, you are more than all-rounder because we think there’s nothing you can do! Is there anything that you want to try next?

KUN: Actually, I'm currently challenging myself with so many things. Recently, I have been so focused on sky diving and now I successfully received the sky diving license, so next...

TAEIL: You got it ?!

YANGYANG: Yes.

KUN: Yes, I did.

TAEIL: Respect~

KUN: So, I'll be focusing on how to skydive with more safety.

YANGYANG: Our solo parts in the next MV, we will sing during skydiving.

(Laugh)

KUN: That's a great idea. It may come out nice.

YANGYANG: Nobody does it, do they?

KUN: Not yet. I don't think there's an idol who obtained a skydiving license.

YANGYANG: You're the only one.

 

YANGYANG, you seem to be close with RENJUN and SHOTARO. Apart from eating hot pot, what did you do together with both of them?

YANGYANG: Actually, when we were together, we ate and drank sometimes.

KUN: Looks like you eat hot pot almost everyday.

YANGYANG: I actually eat hot pot everyday. RENJUN and I eat hot pot together 3 times a week.

For SHOTARO, because we're so close, I can talk to him about everything. I think, when I get stressed or have some worries, I always talk to SHOTARO. These 2 buddies are the friends I often meet.

 

Apart from NCT LAB, can you give us some spoilers about the future activities for NCT this year to next year?

(All smile)

TAEIL: First of all, we're preparing so hard to show the fans our new sides and in various styles. So, please look forward to it.

KUN & YANGYANG: Yes.

KUN: And if there's a chance, we'd love to do some promotional activities in Thailand and in other SEA countries. The weather is also nice.

YANGYANG: I want to do some content in Thailand too.

KUN: Me too.

YANGYANG: Please look forward to it.

KUN: Yes, please.

 

If you have some free time to travel in Thailand, what would you like to try or where would you want to go?

YANGYANG: So, we’ve been to Thailand before, once. But we didn't really have time to enjoy Bangkok a lot. So, I just want to go there and go to the local markets, look around, take photos, and even go to TEN's house. I want to go play at TEN hyung's house.

KUN: Recently, I just talked with TEN that I wanted to go to Phuket. I heard that the beach at Phuket is very beautiful. There're homestays and a lot of beautiful places. So, I want to go there.

TAEIL: I also like the tourist spots like Phuket, like KUN said. I want to go there too.
